Welcome to CarryCast™

CarryCast™ was created from a simple frustration:

I loved fishing, but traditional gear made it difficult to actually fish as often as I wanted to.

I’m Dan, the founder of CarryCast™, and fishing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Some of my best childhood memories were spent fishing with my Dad — early mornings on the water, quiet evenings at the lake, and the feeling of completely disconnecting from everything else for a while.

As I got older, fishing became even more important to me. Not just as a hobby, but as a mental reset. A way to slow down, clear my head, and reconnect with nature in a world that constantly feels busy, noisy, and overstimulating.

Today, I live in Fernie British Columbia, surrounded by incredible rivers, lakes, mountains, and endless outdoor opportunities. I spend a lot of time hiking, road tripping, kayaking, camping, and exploring the outdoors.

But I kept running into the same problem:
I was constantly finding amazing fishing spots without having a rod with me.

Traditional fishing gear didn’t fit naturally into the kind of lifestyle I wanted to live. Most rods were too bulky, inconvenient, or impractical to bring everywhere, which meant fishing often became something I planned occasionally instead of something I could do spontaneously.

So I started searching for compact, travel-friendly fishing gear.

What I found was disappointing.

Most portable rods felt like gimmicks or novelty products that couldn’t handle real fishing, while high-end travel rods were expensive, technical, and designed mostly for hardcore anglers.

There didn’t seem to be anything in the middle:
A rod that was genuinely portable, simple to use, and capable enough for real fishing.

That gap is why CarryCast™ was created.

The mission behind CarryCast is simple:
Help people fish more often by making fishing easier to bring into everyday life.

Whether it’s:

• Keeping a rod in your car
• Bringing it on a hike
• Taking it on a camping trip
• Strapping it to a bike
• Storing it in a kayak
• or stopping at a random river during a road trip
  

CarryCast™ is designed to remove friction and make spontaneous fishing possible.

Since launching, we’ve sold over 7,000 rods and built a growing community of anglers who connect with the same idea:
Fishing doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.

At its core, CarryCast™ is about much more than fishing gear.

It’s about:

• Reconnecting with nature
• Creating memories

That belief continues to shape everything we create as a brand.

We’re not trying to build gear for hardcore anglers.

We’re building gear for everyday people who simply want to fish more, explore more, and carry less.
