Love this fishing rod! Put it in my carry on bag to take up North. Found a small lake with a community canoe. 10th cast We had our first fish in the boat.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Packing it in the carry-on for a trip up North and finding that little lake with the community canoe sounds like the perfect setup. Landing your first fish by the 10th cast is a great sign the rod was ready to go right out of the bag. Thanks again for the kind words, and tight lines on your next trip!
My family had so much fun with this rod on our vacation. We spent hours at the fishing pond and caught fish! My daughter was practicing casting on the lawn and lost a part and the company was very responsive and helped me immediately.
Thats so awesome to hear! Sounds like you made some great memories on your vacation and happy we got your part sorted. All the best :)
I bought a couple of rods and a net to take on a family trip on a canal boat in England. My son and I had a great time with them, we caught a couple of nice sized Bream, a couple of Roach and an Eel. The rods worked perfectly for float fishing using cheese as bait. The net was useful for getting the first Bream on to the boat- unfortunately I lost the net when I left it on the roof of the boat and some tree branches caught it, I will need to get a replacement one soon. We carried the two rods and a small tackle box in our suitcases for three weeks and they hardly took any extra space in our luggage.
Overall definitely glad I bought these and will be using them again on future trips.
So awesome to hear James! Those are some really cool looking fish! Glad you were able to travel seamlessly with all our gear. And sorry to hear about the net 😅 I've definitely been there before... Hit us up if you need a replacement! All the best
A fishing dream!
After struggling fruitlessly with a rod from another company after a half-mile hike just to get to the lake, the Carry-Cast was a real dream . So easy to set up, and in only a couple minutes, I was ready to fish. Caught 8 fish the day after I got the rod. This could be life-changing!
Thats so great to hear! Glad we could help you get out fishing more 🙌
My first time using my Carry Cast and l caught this large mouth bass. The compact design is easy to store in my vehicle and carrying it through rough brush is no problem. Casting is very smooth and the rod gives good feedback. Good selection of lures and accessories in the kit, the net is compact and easy to open as well. I was the first one fishing !! I cant wait to try for a trout salmon soon.
Thanks for the review Patrick! And what a beautiful fish 🔥🔥🔥

Caught a 7.5 pound speckle trout off shore no worm. Super easy set up and the carry kit I reccomend 10/10
Wow!! What a beast of a fish!! Thanks for the review Abby and all the best 😁
I love this rod! I throw it in my truck and it is super convenient to take out on the and love the portability.
The customer service is great and they’re able to solve one of the small problems had with the rod.
Bought this fishing rod recently as a travel companion for my fly-in fly-out job. It’s super compact, fits in my briefcase, and passes through airport security without issue. Highly recommend for any other anglers who travel frequently and need a no-nonsense rod to bring along!
First day fishing and rod detached form reel very disappointed. Still waiting for a response from support.
Hi Raymond, we're sorry you experienced this issue with your CarryCast. We identified a problem affecting a small batch of inventory and have since corrected it with our manufacturer. We've issued a refund for your order and apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to make this right.
HANDS DOWN the Best Gift Ever!
We couldnt be happier with our CarryCast rod. It stores in a zippered pencil case and is ready to go on a moment's notice for a fun fishing sesh on the way home from the kid's school/etc. 0 regrets and we'll be purchasing more of these for friends & family very soon!

My new year resolution was to learn how to fish, but more importantly... Be able to fish on the go and enjoy the experience. Right after work, I head to a local lake and cast out!
Thank you for the amazing review and we're so happy to see you out enjoying the experience! Making fishing simple and easy is what its all about for us :)
This is an amazing little rod. Helps me get into the small hidden spaces and the line is thick enough to not have to worry about snapping.
Dan, the founder, has incredible customer service and helped me out with any questions I had. Great company and looking forward to any new products.
Thanks for the kind review race! All the best :)
I have been loving my CarryCast rod! It folds up so small and extends in seconds. It's so easy to throw in a backpack and keep in your car so you can easily go wherever, whenever. I don't know why more people don't know about portable rods but it's a game changer!

Wonderful addition to our backpacking kit; worked awesome when reeling in a 5lbs Jack with no issues.slight learning curve with how to properly reel with the way the rod “locks” into place, but once figured out, it has been fantastic. Excellent portability and works wonderful for smaller hands. Shorter handle, but the rod feels comfortable and has an extra “grip” to hold/stabilize. Would purchase again, fits great in a small pack, or in our medium-sized tackle box.
Thank you so much for your kind reviews Tessa! Hope your having a great summer and finding lots of time to fish!
All the best,
Dan
Everything came right, I haven't tested yet but it appears to be of good quality, I liked the trigger system to release the line.
An awesome rod to keep in the car and especially for occasional fishing!
Absolutely Perfect!
Love this product. It’s the perfect size and so convenient. Getting one for family for Christmas!
Hi there! We're thrilled to hear you love the CarryCast™. Thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback and for considering it as a gift for your family. Happy holidays!
This is an amazing fishing rod! I love the durability and compactness of it. It came already stung with great line. Super beginner friendly. It's so compact, I take it everywhere!
Hi Kristen, we're thrilled to hear you love the CarryCast™! It's great to know it's perfect for your adventures. Thanks for sharing your experience!
This rod was easy enough to set up but is very clearly made of super cheap material and does not work even remotely the same as a normal fishing rod. After casting the line we could not reel in the line. We were able to reel it in eventually but then again the next time we cast and the line won’t come back. Ended up having to open it and the whole thing just broke. The rod part also is so short. It’s like a mini kids rod that can’t catch fish and breaks the second you try to actually use it.
DO NOT BUY! SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Hi Judy, sorry to hear about your experience. Please contact us at support@carrycast.com so we can assist you further. Thank you for your feedback.

Most portable fishing rods fall into one of two categories: cheap novelty rods that sacrifice performance for compactness, or premium travel rods designed for serious anglers with serious budgets.
CarryCast was built for everyone in between.
Using a locking-hinge design and a durable carbon fibre and fiberglass blend, it packs down small enough for a backpack, glovebox, kayak hatch, or carry-on while still delivering the casting performance needed for everyday freshwater fishing.
It’s not built to be the most technical rod on the market. It’s built to be the rod that’s actually with you when the opportunity to fish shows up.
The CarryCast rod is designed for anglers who value convenience as much as performance.
It’s a great fit if you:
• Hike, bike, paddle, or travel and want to fish when you find water
• Keep fishing gear in your vehicle for spontaneous stops
• Want a simple setup without researching dozens of rod and reel combinations
• Already own traditional gear and want something compact for everyday carry
It may not be the right fit if you primarily fish tournaments, target large game fish, or regularly fish saltwater.
We’d rather be clear about that up front.
CarryCast is designed for trout, bass, panfish, crappie, and similar freshwater species found in lakes, rivers, ponds, and creeks.
The locking-hinge design provides the backbone needed for everyday freshwater fishing, while the pre-installed 12 lb monofilament line is matched to the species most customers target.
It’s not a heavy-duty saltwater rod or a specialty trophy-fish setup.
It’s a real fishing rod built for real-world freshwater fishing.
The rod arrives with the reel attached and line already installed.
Simply unfold each section until it locks into place, thread the line through the guides, and you’re ready to cast.
The first setup usually takes a few minutes. After that, most anglers can have it ready in about a minute.
If you’d like a walkthrough, our setup guide includes a short step-by-step video.
The CarryCast rod is the foundation of our travel-ready fishing system.
Pair it with the CarryNet collapsible landing net for easy catch-and-release fishing, or add the CarryKit compact tackle box for a ready-to-go selection of lures, hooks, and tools.
For the best value, the Complete Fishing Kit combines all three into one complete setup and saves 20% compared to buying them separately.
